Shawn McCoy, founder of FedEd Academy, brings over 37 years of expertise in the financial services industry. He began his career with MetLife in Carrollton, Texas, focusing on assisting Federal employees with their unique financial needs. Over the course of his career, Shawn has held various leadership roles in management, group sales, compliance, and wholesaling, gaining comprehensive insights into financial education and benefit programs.
For the past 15 years, Shawn has been dedicated to educating Federal employees on retirement planning, life insurance, health benefits, and other critical government programs through workshops and seminars held nationwide. His efforts have empowered over 38,000 Federal employees to make informed decisions about their financial futures. In addition, Shawn partners with financial advisors, providing them with the specialized knowledge required to better serve their Federal employee clients.
As a former registered representative, Shawn held Series 7, 63, 24, and 65 licenses, reflecting his deep understanding of financial markets and compliance standards. His passion for education and commitment to excellence are the driving forces behind FedEd Academy, which equips financial professionals with the tools and training needed to navigate the complexities of Federal employee benefits.
Shawn resides in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he continues to focus on empowering individuals and financial professionals to make confident, informed decisions that secure long-term financial well-being.
