FedEd Academy™ is a program of Federal Employee Benefits Advocates, LLC (FEBA), a company built around a single purpose: making sure federal employees have access to financial professionals who truly understand their world.
FedEd Academy is the educational pathway to the Registered Federal Benefits Specialist℠ (RFBS℠) designation — the only advisor credential purpose-built for the federal benefits system.
We founded FedEd Academy to close the gap between the civilian-side training most advisors receive and the genuine complexity of FERS, the Thrift Savings Plan, FEHB, FEGLI, and the special provisions that govern the careers of America's 3 million federal employees. That gap costs federal workers real money and real security. We're fixing it.

FedEd Academy is led by practitioners — people who have spent decades working inside the federal benefits system before they ever taught about it.
Founder & Lead Instructor
K. Shawn McCoy
Shawn brings 37 years in financial services and 15 years of focused work teaching federal employees about their benefits — more than 38,000 federal workers through workshops nationwide. He launched his career at MetLife serving federal clients and has held roles spanning management, group sales, compliance, and wholesaling. He previously held Series 7, 63, 24, and 65 licenses, and founded FedEd Academy™ so other advisors could develop the same depth.

Cassie Graves
Cassie works directly with financial advisors and agency HR offices to support benefit-education outreach. Her day-to-day focus is on FEHB plan comparisons, FEGLI elections, and helping advisors translate complex federal benefit rules into clear, client-ready guidance. She is a key part of FEBA's mission to connect federal employees with knowledgeable, well-trained financial professionals.
